Explore Vail Village

If you are looking for a Rocky Mountain High then Vail, Colorado is the destination for you. The resort town's snowy landscape is undeniable and the summer season is spectacular. There is a reason people travel halfway around the world to ski and play here.

However, where do you stay and find other amenities while enjoy the wonder of Vail? Two areas, each about one mile from the other, feed, house and satiate the hordes of travelers. One of these is Lions Head and the other is Vail Village.

Whether you are coming off the ski slopes or looking to travel on level ground after a mountainous hike, strolling through Vail Village is a feast for all your senses. Take a stroll through the village, down the heated cobblestone walkways; enjoy fire pits and interesting water features.

Even without any vehicles, Vail Village manages to stay right in the heart of all the action. You can experience Vail Village for excellent dining, shopping, après ski, and nightlife, all just steps from Vail's luxury lodging. Vail hotels and Vail lodges offer a level of refinement not found in most other resorts. Many lodging accommodations in the Vail Village serve up ski in / ski out access. Imagine stepping into your skis and hopping on the chairlift for an epic day of skiing at the Vail Mountain Resort. Simply ride home to your own private Vail condominium rental and open a bottle of wine for a relaxing evening spent by a crackling fire. If you are looking for some nightlife, you will find that here too. In the Vail Village, you are surrounded by some of Colorado's best restaurants, clubs and bars.   • Annual Matzah Ball Party at the Tap Room
  • New Year’s Eve Torchlight Parade and Fireworks Show at Golden Peak on Vail Mountain will take place just after sunset Dec. 31.

In the winter, it is all about the skiing, but in the summer, there is a great deal to do.

Summer events in Vail Village include:

  • Vail Farmers’ Market & Art Show – This is the largest Farmers’ Market in Colorado. With 100 vendor tents, you are sure to find something to take home with you.
  • BBQ Bonanza - BBQ experts from all over the Vail Valley will be serving up their best dishes in the heart of Vail Village the last Saturday of June.
  • Sweet on Vail - The Sweet on Vail will satisfy your sweet tooth. Held in Vail Village, the Sweet on Vail event is a 50's themed festival of dessert.
  • Vail Hot Summer Nights - This annual free summer concert series is hosted at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater Tuesday evenings throughout the summer months.
  • Gourmet on Gore - Attendees will have the unique opportunity to experience world-renowned culinary delights, Labor Day Weekend.

Whatever time of year you happened to be in Vail, just park your car and head out for stroll through Vail Village. It will be good for your body and your soul!
